Roth Hydraulics is advancing its international expansion and strengthening its global market position:
The manufacturer of accumulator systems based in Biedenkopf-Eckelshausen has acquired the U.S. company SFP Hydraulics, Inc., headquartered in Houston, Texas.
SFP Hydraulics is an established supplier of bladder, piston, and diaphragm accumulators.
The company was founded in 2014 and has grown significantly since then. “Thanks to the expertise of its employees and a large market, particularly in North America, the company is looking ahead with very positive expectations,” explains Christin Roth-Jäger, CEO of the Roth Industries Group, to which Roth Hydraulics also belongs. SFP Hydraulics actively initiated a change in its ownership structure: “Given the extremely promising outlook, SFP decided to bring a strong partner into the company to place the expected growth on a solid economic footing.”
The choice quickly fell on Roth Hydraulics. “As a market competitor, we know the company, its capabilities, and its management well,” reports Frank Fuchs, Managing Director of Roth Hydraulics. The chemistry was right from the start: “Even during the initial discussions, it became clear that the family-owned company Roth and SFP Hydraulics share the same values, ideas, and convictions.”
A global partner for global customers.
The merger brings advantages for both partners in many respects. For instance, Roth Hydraulics’ product range complements SFP’s portfolio. “Both companies are specialists in hydraulic accumulator systems. The merger makes us a global partner for global customers with production and sales locations in the U.S., China, and Germany,” emphasizes Frank Fuchs, “thereby sustainably strengthening our competitiveness and opening up opportunities that will also benefit our existing location in Katy, Houston, Texas, as well as the Biedenkopf-Eckelshausen site.”
For the time being, SFP Hydraulics will continue to operate under its own name and with its own logo. Operational management will remain unchanged. “In Germany as well as in the U.S., the companies are led by experienced, motivated, and principled executives,” emphasizes CEO Christin Roth-Jäger, “with excellent management teams and a bright future ahead, we look forward to taking the next steps together in close collaboration.”
