Bolenz & Schäfer passes successful environmental management audit
18/02/2016
Bolenz & Schäfer in Biedenkopf-Eckelshausen passed the audit successfully in accordance with the international environmental management norm DIN EN ISO 14001. This Roth Industries subsidiary has thus underpinned its high level of commitment to environmental protection and quality.

In order to undergo certification Bolenz & Schäfer had to determine corporate environmental policy, environmental objectives and an environmental programme. The company also developed and realised its own environmental management system. The aim is to achieve continual improvement through the regular testing of the self-imposed environmental objectives. The norm promotes the maintenance and review of the statutory environmental obligations and self-imposed obligations of the organisation. The consultant Frank Meckel carried out the certification of this internationally operational manufacturer of hydraulic systems.
Hartmut Gojdka, Environmental Management Officer at Bolenz & Schäfer explains: “With the environmental management system we have undertaken to constantly improve our environmental performance and we are proud that we have already been able to realise a first objective in the near term. We have been covering one hundred percent of our power requirements from eco-electricity since January 1st, 2016.” This reduces the output of CO2 by approximately 300 tonnes annually. This example clearly demonstrates that the company has accepted its social and ecological responsibility and thus climate and environmental protection, Hartmut Gojdka continues.

Active environmental protection is a fixed component of corporate policy at Bolenz & Schäfer and it is developing this aspiration further with the passing of this audit.
